Linger Longer at your Local Library

Congrats to Regina #30!

You win!

Our awesome community library does a little quilt show every year.

2 day extravaganza of quilting classes and eye candy.

Our favorite vendor was there, Quilt Taffy.

Maybe you've heard of them.

Leela and I did a jiggity jig about pillows and such.

If the stars align, perhaps I'll have more to show on that later.

Speaking of jiggity jig.

Jig yourself right over to the comments and tell us about your favorite dance move to enter to win a

Super Secret Fat Quarter Pack treat!

Good Luck!

Random drawing later tonight.

or tomorrow. Or whenever Corrie unpacks.

I know my library has something like this coming up and I can't wait to see it.

  4. Man it's been so long I don't even know anymore!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well - the wiggle dance with my grandsons - other wise quite the romantic - a slow dance anytime.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not sure it could be called my favorite but I remember taking a class for The Hustle. LOL! Oh that was a few years ago!
I sure wish I'd find you gals at MY library when I go this week.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I have to go with Moves like Jagger.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I took a few dancing lessons few years back and we managed to learn a few steps. My favourite is the waltz but for a real work out (which I was hoping for) is the modern dance (plus the instructor is real cute).

    ReplyDelete
  9. I love to do the chicken dance with my children....it's really funny!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I do pilates and out teacher is a fan of 'Strictly Come Dancing' so she often throws some dance steps in to our class!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I really like Barn dances organised by my church. Good fun and there is usually a caller, so if you don't know what you need to do there is someone to tell you :-)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Your topics for comments always entertain me! When we were in college we did a dance called The Shag. It's a beach/southern thing and usually done to beach music, if you know what that is.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My favorite dance move is an Irish step thing I kind of improvise on.

    ReplyDelete
  14. My favorite dance move is the Swinging...a square dance move! Some men are really good at swinging a gal around and it's so fun when they're good at it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. In tribute to the recently deceased Don Cornelius -- gotta be the soul train line dance!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Considering I have two left feet and can't hold rhythm at all...I do enjoy dancing the Cha Cha Slide at family events. Can't beat a dance that tells you what moves to make. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  17. How cool! My favorite dance move is slow dancing with my husband. With three kids we are busy, but whenever we get the chance it's a romantic way to reconnect!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wow how cool is that! What a great library. I am always checking put quilt books from the library. Dance would be something nice and slow :-)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love to Cajun dance, but hubby not so much. The only dance action I've seen is with my elementary students doing the Chicken Dance:) Love the moves!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wow! I think that our library should do something like this too!! Great idea :-) As for favorite dance moves... I looooove the swing!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm a horrible dancer, no rhythm. That said, my favorite dance would be The Bunny Hop and The Hokie Pokie. ;-> I love my library, also. Your library looks like quilts heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dance moves? The only dance I do is with my kiddos, and they have no idea that I am really bad at it! ltenhage@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  23. Not much of a dancer but I enjoy doing the chicken dance with my children.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lucky library patrons with all those beautiful quilts!
    sorry....no dance moves.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I dont dance! lol... though, when those kids put in zumba, i manage to pull of something. Its fun to do line dances, like electric slide or cotteneyed joe. :) Love all the items you had at the library, so bright and colorful!

    ReplyDelete
  26. haha - I do the Elaine dance (from Seinfeld) - yeah, not much rhythm in my step. How fun to go to the library!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Right now the only dancing I am doing is Zumba and I love the cumbeeia moves.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Slow dancing with my husband or giggle dancing with my grandkids! Wish I could be at your library! ~Jeanne

  29. I love the library idea! Every library should do it, I bet it would generate more interest in quilting and sewing. Dance moves, hmmm. When I was younger, about 30 years ago, I was a major "club chic" dancing all the time but it was freestyle. Like my former commenter above, I'm doing Zumba and I'm about to treat my son to a "ballroom dancing" class that HE requested. So, hopefully that will be my fave dance move soon!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm definitly not a dancer! So I try (yes, try) to move like I'd know what to do and blend well in the crowd ... good plan, right;-)
Thanks for this suprise giveaway and greetings from germany, Hildy

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm not much of a dancer, but I'd like to get started on Zumba just to loose weight. It looks like fun. I like western swing.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I always revert back to the two step...very easy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm glad to see some quilters are dancers, not me, however 🎵

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am not a dancer but it is fun to do the Cha Cha Slide. the bonus...it tells you the moves. I also like the Electric Slide.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love to do the Silly Dance with my grandson! Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hehehe...my own personal favorite dance move is (hold on to your socks) the old "Shuffle off to Buffalo" an old tap dance step that even having to use a cane now because of my Scleroderma, I can do this dance step. See, a cane just fits right into most tap dance steps. *wink* Thanks for a chance! Hugs....

  38. I love dance music, especially when I'm walking fast for exercise, but I don't dance. Maybe I should start....

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  40. An Irish jig- why can't my library be as cool as yours???

    ReplyDelete
  41. My favorite dance move is dancing under the stars with your sweetheart...no music...just the love song of two hearts sharing the same beat!

    Sappy...but a true story!

    ReplyDelete
  42. ogf course lets do the twist. linda gerig

  43. Wow! I am going to check my local Library to see if they have anything like that. My favorite dance has always been tap dancing there is just something about the rhythm. I even took a class many years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well the disco and I were tight in the 70's. I was about 17, living at home, and my mom, the lady next door, and I took lessons. We were awesome! (or so I remember). Thanks for the give away. Please come to our library :)

  47. Well I haven't danced for ages, and I'm dating myself here, but in high school we had a dance move called the jerk, which I was pretty darn good at. These days we just stick with slow dancing. I wish our little library would host a quilt extravaganza!

  48. What a fabulous thing for a library to host! I wish mine would do something like that. My favorite dance move is the one that my daughter does quite regularly, we call it the Kennedy, and esentially it's a straight legged rock from one foot to the other. Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  49. What a great library you have! I like to watch others do Latin ballroom; I dance more like Snoopy than like Ginger!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I like the chachacha. My husband and I took social dance lessons a few years ago and we (well, I at least) loved every minute of every dance, except the waltzing. I think that's kind of boring. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. What a fun event! I am a fan of the octopus, a country dance move I learned in Social Dance in high school.

    ReplyDelete
  52. My favorite dance move is one that only my family knows. We'll call it the Skip Hop. I do it to tease my husband about his high school dance moves that I've seen on family home videos. How fun that the library does a quilt show. What a great way to involve the community.

    ReplyDelete
  53. i am a total wallflower...id rather sit and watch others dance...but you start some square dancing music, and im there! so...do-si-do is my favorite...and only dance move! im excited your library does a quilt show, how great is that!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I wish our local library did the same, that is awesome! My favorite dance move would be the one my 5 year old son does... I think it is something like a DJ spinning albums or something. He does it for everything!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is the worm considered a dance move? I can't do it, but I enjoy watching others struggle or on the rare occasion excel at it. If that is not a proper dance move my other choice is running man for the exact same reasons listed above. I can actually do the running man, but I try to avoid it for many reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Easy....the grandma dance. A little something I do for the entertainment of my grandkids.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm not sure about dance move, but my husband an I tried to learn the Tango. we were really really bad at it and generally ended up shouting at each other in the classes!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I always loved doing the running man. Those were good times :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. What a wonderful way to use the library. Your quilt display looks awesome. I guess I'm dating myself, but I always liked the "twist". Good exercise and lots of fun. I saw Chubby Checkers on TV a few weeks ago, and he doesn't look like he's aged a day since the 60s.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The only dance I do is "the bottom dance", which was made up up by my son when he was two. He's 5 now and we still do the bottom dance together - more for laughs than for the actual dance :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Umm... chair dancing!

That's so cool your library puts on a quilt show! :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. What a fun library! Who doesn't love the Happy dance?!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I have no dance moves :) Hope I still can have a chance to win!! Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  64. What an awesome event for the library to put on. Very cool. How about a good ol Hokey Pokey? Good for all ages. :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am not a dancer at all so I tend to just do the sway and shuffle the feet move.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I love the quilt show at the library. I like the shake it out, you make your own moves and move to the loud music. Hope you had fun at the sale. thanks, kathy

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well I'm not much of a dancer, and not sure if this would be a favourite ~ but on a cruise we were just on, they started playing the macarena in the middle of dinner and over 100 waiters and close to a thousand people in the dining room started doing it all together ~ it was fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I can't help but be remind smiling as my daughters ballet class was doing the "Hand Jive" in class last night!! Seen straight out of Grease w/ all their ponytails!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Favorite dance move... how about the "I'll bounce and twirl around with you if you promise not to cry" move? I use it all the time on my little ones.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I wish our library would do something like that. My favorite dance - well does London Bridge or Hokey Pokey count with the grandkids?

  77. My favorite dance move is a spin. Not that I can do them but they are fun to watch. Also fun to have a quilt show at the library.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just the good old rocking back and forth in the arms of my dear husband. It can be done anywhere and requires no music!

    ReplyDelete
  79. My husband and I took dance classes before we got married (actually before we got engaged), and I loved learning to swing dance!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Totally dating myself--but it is the bump....hahahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  81. My husband took each of our girls to the Girl Scout Ball when they were little and did the "Sprinkler". You will have to ask him about it.

    ReplyDelete
  82. This is such a nice event for your library to host. Our county library was recently burglarized so it's temporarily closed. One of the local quilting groups is having their quilt day in March, so hope to see that quilt display. Thanks for the chance. Hope this week the comment post works.

  84. I don't really have a favorite dance move- I just dance to whatever song is playing. Love to dance- when I was younger the girls would get together a couple of times a month and go out to dance. Those were fun times!! :) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  85. I love Saturday Night Fever, wish I could dance like that :D, lol

    ReplyDelete
  86. I free-style when it comes to dancing. My current favorite move is one I learned in belly dancing, the figure 8 hip swirl. :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yikes, don't think I ever had a dance "move", but always liked slow dancing with my honey. What a great library and fantastic, colorful display. Thanks for the chance to win!! Happy Thursday!

    ReplyDelete
  88. My 5-yr-old has this weird little dance that is so silly, but oh my goodness, it is so funny that it is definitely my favorite dance!

    ReplyDelete
  89. My favorite dance move is putting your whole self in on roller skates doing the hokey pokey. Unfortunately I think if I did it now I would just fall and break my bum.

    ReplyDelete
  90. That move where you swish your head from left to right kind of like the Peanuts gang when they dance!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Showing my age - I love to do YMCA. Yep, I am a disco girl. What a great thing to have at a library!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I love to shimmy my shoulders and wiggle my hips. It doesn't look as cool as it sounds...

    ReplyDelete
  93. That quilt show looks like lots of fun. My favorite dance is a nice slow dance with my husband in the kitchen with the local radio station playing.

    ReplyDelete
  94. The dance move where you pretend you're ducking under a low doorway and the rest of your body just follows....you know, it's a Zumba move! I just recently learned it so I'm pretty bad at it!

    ReplyDelete
  95. My favorite move is called the "arm breaker", but it isn't dangerous or anything, just fun!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I don't have a favourite dance move - I just do what the music tells me! Thank you for the giveaway!
