Wedding Eve

Tomorrow is the big day!

My oldest daughter is getting married.

This day has been coming for months
and it's finally here.

He's a keeper.  So is she.
I think they are a perfect match
and will find much happiness
and success
together.

A couple of months ago,
I was teary about my daughter getting married
and a friend said to me,
"Isn't it like -- wow, great you're gaining a new member of the family?"

I said, "No, Not at all. I'm losing my daughter."

But with a little time, it is all good.
I can do this :).  I can let go.
It is time that she moves on,
and that things change.

And yes now, it is like -
"Wow!  We have a new member of the family!"
He's adorable.
He's been wearing his wedding ring for two weeks.

  2. I enjoyed my daughters weddings. I have one daughter who is not married and would love to be - she looking for a keeper. Blessings to you and your family on the joyous event.

  6. LOL! What a sweet event for your family. Our family grew by a new daughter in law a year ago, and I have to say I truly love that girl. She did the same thing with her wedding ring for the last week or so before the wedding. Whenever anyone would tease her about it she'd say, "well, I need to get used to wearing it!" =)

  7. Aw, congratulations to them. I know how you feel. We'll have our second child getting married in the fall. Our daughter visits often, but a boy? They don't get back quite as often so I'm a little sad. But our soon-to-be daughter-in-law is a sweetheart, so it's all good.

  13. So today is the day. Congratulations to you too. You do gain a new member (got one a couple of years ago) and this past August we were blessed with our first grandchild. I couldn't ask for someone who loves my daughter more and give thanks each day for her choice in a husband and now a father too.
