Prepping for The Great Outdoors

My girls grew up
and left,
now it's just me and boys.

I am trying
to embrace
camping.
The transition isn't going real well.

But,
I think having
new,
clean,
non-polyester,
non-camo
camp quilts would help my enthusiasm.

When I saw Lori Holt's Vintage Camping pattern,
I knew it was for me!

But my camper needed to be pulled
by a pickup.

So.... here it is.

If you'd like a pieced truck pattern,
here is my attempt at sharing.
No guarantees.

If you'd like a pattern for this quilt check here or
for a kit, contact me.

I'm so happy it's done.

Snuggy warm Sidewalks flannel
on the back.

Been testing it out in front of the TV.

I'll just lay in the camper
and try not to think about

bears and

 whether people have
 washed their hands.

  1. Hehehe. Of course you need something prettier than camo. I wouldn't be happy with that look either. I love your new quilt and hope the boys don't give you too much grief over it. :)

  8. Not Like camping??? Huh?/ Did you really think about this? I LOVE camping. I take hand sewing, stitching, mags books etc, etc(all the must-haves)and send them on their way for the most of the day fishing or whatever and I while away my time in piece and quiet!!! Take the grands to the beach or playground ocassionally also a great time to teach the grands to sew or stitch or Girl You have been soooo misled!!!!

  10. That is a fun quilt and love the camping themes.
We are going to look at trailers again and want to make things for it, but have to wait and see what colors we get in it, most of the new ones have modern and weird designs, lol.

  14. Perfect quilt! We just bought a camper last summer and we pull it with a pick up as well. I've never been a camper but taking my Featherweight along has helped a lot :-)

  20. What a great idea to make a quilt for camping. Wonderful, but using it in front of the TV would be just fine with me too.

  21. Hahaha you are delightful Corrie! I now love camping in my camper. It makes all the difference. I've GOT to make a quilt with a camper on it! Love yours.

  22. I only like to camp if there is carpeting under my bed and a flushable toilet close by. I did girl's camp ONCE...that was enough! I love this quilt, though, and think it would be great to use when camping in front of my TV.
