  1. Good Morning ladies!
I just love looking at fabric online since I have very few opportunities to get to store around here that has a big selection. Not seeing anything new at MM, although I LOVE the B&W line and would love to make a B&W quilt. At Westminster my faves are Kaffe Fasset. The new Amy Butler fabrics are pretty but just in decorator weight. :( At Free Spirit OLIVE ROSE is what catches my eye. I can see a quilt done up in those large prints. Moda is soooo hard to narrow down! I like Merry & Bright, Pumpkins gone Wild (but then I like ANY fall fabric - but not Halloween stuff),1974 Urban Chiks is cute,Winter has a lot of cute prints in the line. OH how I wish they had these fall/winter lines in flannel!!
I realize it isn't on your list...but a quilt kit made up of Timeless Treasures TAXI TRIO would be a showstopper :D I am sure this didn't help you ONE BIT!
Have fun at the show and how about taking lots of booth photos and posting them in the blog when you return. It would be ALMOST like being there with you :D

  2. I really like the Michael Miller fabrics the best. The Ginger Blossom line and Pod Posey are really really cute. I do think that the FreeSpirit Katie Jump Rope would make a perfect gender neutral baby quilt though...
Wish I could come along-looking at all of this fabric must be fun!!

  3. Hi guys! Besides the Ginger Blossom that you already have, anything Amy Butler. Her stuff is always so cute. And of course the name doesn't hurt either when you are doing a search. I like some of the others, but I'm don't know if I could commit to buy without a project in mind. Lord knows what kind of stash I have that I already have no idea what to do with! :) And I've never been to Portland or to Boston in the Fall. (we've been listening to Veggie Tales all morning) Can't wait to see what you guys come back with from the show. You guys have great taste and always have beautiful fabrics.

  4. I make outfits for the little ones and right now I am into anything fun, modern and EURO :) But I cant afford euro prices so euro style works too. I'm a bit bored with MM I want something new from them but I do like Pod posey. I love Moda, they are just spitting out new lines left and right.

But I currently have my eye on Jane Street wimsy through timeless treasures, I need some of that soon!

Cant wait to read about your trip! Have fun,
    Andrea

  5. I've never been to Portland but its on my short list. My blogging pal Jodi (check out http://simplythisthatandtheother.blogspot.com/ ) lives in Portland and will be working at Market making sure you have gloves on to touch quilts among other things. Jodi is a sweetheart. If I were you I'd email her and ask her some things to eat and do in Portland. She's a great photographer and finder of wonderful things.

As for what I'd like you to report on - well I love reproduction fabric and I love Japanese reproduction. My weakness is reproduction novelty fabrics. So if you see that please take photos for show and tell. Have a great time. I'm so super jealous.

  7. Even though hubby is from Portland, we have never really eaten out there (except once 18 years ago at a German restaurant in the Hollywood area). So, I've got nothin' for ya' -- sorry! I'd just ask some of the locals once you get there for recommendations -- either at the hotel or at market! Wish I was coming with you!!

  9. Thanks for making me go look at online fabrics-I found some that I really like and need to buy! I've always been a big Anna Marie Horner fan and just can't stop looking at her new Drawing room line in the home decor collection. I would love to make some heavy-weight bags with that fabric! And Erin Michael's funky monkey line is so fun! Would love to quilt some of that up into a lap blanket for a baby shower gift. So jealous you get to go to Portland. Have fun shopping!

  10. ok I have to say that I love Tula Pink. I looked at her Nest fabric through Moda and I love it. I have a great article about Portland from Sunset Mag I'll look through it and see if there is anything good. I'm still in love with Katie Jump Rope line and Amy Butlers new line August Rush or something like that...Later gals

  11. I love Amy Butler's new line and everything Anna Maria Horner. I also like ginger blossom, which I know you have. But do you have the flannel and/or corduroy Ginger Blossom? That would be fun.

  12. I like to make little outfits for baby gifts and like to pair up different cottons for Summer. I'd love to see coordinating prints or a solid and print together. I find boys prints really hard to come by and hard to match up color. It would be great to see some paired up together in 1m cuts or see some "recommended prints that coordinate". I liked the Oh My Dog line by Lauri Gardner from Moda. The stripes and dots would look great for a little boyd outfit if they were paired up with a coordinating solid.

  13. Ok, how do you narrow all that down? I would take any of those fabrics to be quite honest. But, my favorites are the Moda Swell Home collection and the Free Spirit fabrics are my faves-including Drawing Room, Flirt, Bell Bottom, Sun Drop, Mod Girls, Sis Boom Basics, Sole, Chocolate Lollipop and Zazu. Zazu caught my eye to be used for home decor, I love the bold prints and neutral colors in it. And of course Ginger Blossom is awesome! Have fun at the Quilt Market. I think there is one here in Houston in Oct??? Hope this helps!

  16. I'm not commenting to win because I have won more than my fair share. It was fun to look at all the upcoming fabrics. Here's what I love: Moda--Isn't xmas jolly, candyland xmas, merry and bright, Tula Pink's nest. Michael Miller--xmas with a twist, ginger blossom. I love everything from Westminster and Free Spirit but I don't tend to buy them very often. Usually the prints are too large scale for me.

    Have fun!

  20. I am definitley loving the cute flannels! I make baby blankets and lap blankets out of flannel and it is great to see fun patterns @ Michael Miller! At FreeSpirit I love the Sun Drop design- it would make cute little dresses and skirts- bags too actually.
