Giveaway~ Flock together..........WINNER!!

update: Congrats! Stacey at luv2knitnsew
Lots of new words to ponder and find good usage for.
I think we need to have a word verification comment one of these days.
Remind me, would ya?
Thanks for all the comments!
......my little birds of a feather.
After seeing this block on Rachel's post, I thought to myself,
"Self, why have you not seen this fabric before?"
Sweet Rachel hunted down the info for me.
Then I called my personal secretary and told her to get me that fabric ASAP. Well, she got mostly everything they had left of this line.
And then I woke up and realized that Corrie was the boss and it was all just a figment of my imagination except the part about Rachel and getting the fabric.
Since we are into share and share alike, we'd like you to have 4 fat quarters today.
Feathered Friends from In the Beginning Fabrics
We're covering all your bases:
Aren't they lovely, wonderful, in fact just plain.....Tweeterific!!
I think I just made that up.
Let me check my Funk & Wagnall, Mr. Webster is busy.
Nope. Not original.
I forgot the whole Twitter mania.
I hate it when I can't claim credit for wonderful words.
Oh yes....I'm feeling like comments today should be full of new and wonderful words!!!!
In the immortal words of Pat Benetar.....
Hit Me With Your Best Shot.....Fire Away.
Although, I'm not sure I used the word immortal correctly. Perhaps you might want to leave a comment in regards to grammar, usage and mechanics.
Random Drawing later tonight.
Although the random drawer is always drawn towards people with email addresses attached.
The random drawer spends zero time trying to hunt people down.
If you haven't the slightest clue of what I'm talking about, see here.
Good Luck!!

  1. I do love that quilt block from Rachel's blog. I had admired it before. I have some of the fabric...the large birds in BLUE. It was supposed to be for an apron but then something else took its place and so it is folded and in my stash, just waiting...

  2. The second I opened this post, I thought, "I've never seen this fabric before." Then I actually bothered to read what you've written and was happy that I wasn't the only loopless egg.

Loopless Egg: One who is clueless on a hot topic or trend particularly those relating to bird fabric.

  4. Love the fabric, the first thing that popped up in my mind is "eeeeekkkk!!"

"eeeeekkk!!" = so cute; so adorable; i'm excited; and i want that!

Note: it is not "ick!" , which is the total opposite by the way! =) you must be able to pronounce it the right way - eeeeekkkk

    Thanks =)

  5. Am I allowed to say that the fabric is fanbloodytastic, it's a common one here in this part of the world, it's a few steps up from ordinary fantastic!
The fabric is lovely and soft in colouring.

  8. I know it's not a new word for most quilters, but I like "fabricoholic". I doubt it's in most dictionaries...

  13. Love that fabric. Love making up new words too. My husband always asks, "Is that a word?" I say YES in my world it is. I, however, am a stickler for correct speaking grammar...not so much writing but speaking is important to me. I want to sound edumacated.

  15. I've been thinking that a lot of the birds on bird fabric look kind of menacing -- ? Probably can blame that on Alfred Hitchcock. Anyway, these are sweet! Baby sweet even!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ooh, that fabric is sparkilicious!
    Enter me, please.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oops - hit anon by mistake! (happy to find non-menacing bird comment)

  18. I am in the mood to BIRDIFY an upcoming quilt and some new lovely fabric would help me do just that!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ooh--I am so uncreative. But I love the word "birdiful" that someone else used. Perfect!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love this fabric and I do not have a made up word, I just butcher words we already use!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Gotta have this scrumptiolicious fabric. Please. Please. Pretty Please.

  22. You must be reading my mind! I just posted on crazymomquilts blog yesterday that I had to come up with new words to describe her beautiful quilts. Thanks for having this posting for me!;-) I have also been participating in ParkCityGirls' quilt festival and I feel like I keep saying the same thing all the time. Alright, getting to the point my word is fantabulous. It's a combination of fantastic and fabulous, meaning something so wonderful it can not be described by one word only. For example, that fabric is fantabulous!

  23. Wow! that fabric "supercalafragulisticexpealadocis"
I think I might need some of that.

  24. Oh, pretty fabric. Well, I don't really have any made up words, but I do "itch" my "scratches". They tell me it should be the other way around, but I think it sounds better like this! Almost everyone in my family says it this way. Also, all the kids in my family pronounce crayons as "crowns"! :D

    ReplyDelete
  25. In the words of the BIG purple guy, "Super-de-duper"!!! I can just see the lovely quilt now...

    ReplyDelete
  26. What a fantabulicious giveaway! Thanks for letting me enter :-)

  27. What great fabric! I love it!! It would look so sweet as a little chubba blanket (chubba is what we call my little 11-month-old). My 4-year-old puts "chubba" in front of everything--chubba claws, chubba cereal, chubba toys, chubba bath. He'd probably say, "I like that chubba fabric."

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm fabric obsessed...and that fabric is amazing!!! So cool! I love words and grammar, but I'm not super-creative at making up new ones, but yes...the fabric is "wonderlicious!"

    ReplyDelete
  29. oh snap...
i made the quilt taffy blog!!!

  33. I like all these new words people are coming up with in honor of the fabric...How about Birdirific?
    ohh..I hope I win!

  34. Grammar: Was my least favorite class in college - but something I am stickler for, must be the English teacher in me. (Please do no check that sentence for correct grammar, I'm only a stickler for other people's grammar.)

Usage: I like to make sure all things serve their proper usage, and then are recycled for a different usage.

Mechanics: Are quite helpful when you have a problem with your car.

wv: conatio - when you con your Uncle, in Spanish.

  35. These fabrics are darling. My mom is making a quilt out of the blues and greens, but I've not seen the pinks before.
Let's see, a new word... when I was young my friends an I used to say the word "idionotic". Used correctly in a sentance it would go something like this: "This game is idionotic, let's play something else."
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  42. Wow....very very pretty fabrics. Fingers crossed. Now for my word...twitteroxious...the annoying plethera (another good but not new word) of invitations to join someone on twitter. Few people have interesting info on "what you are doing now". Get over yourself twitter people! Ok, now I feel better. Sorry if I offended any twitterers out there. Its the peer pressure to join that is making me nuts. I am a non-twitter person in case I have been too subtle.

Happy St. George day from one that lives in Barcelona: streets full of books and roses, today :-)

  61. My best friend uses the phrase "That's thick" for something really cool. She's the ultimate do-gooder white girl and that was her way of being a little rough around the edges. So, this bird fabric is totally THICK.

    ReplyDelete
  62. No, I think 'the immortal Pat Benatar' is correct. At least that's what I would say. I love the fabric. It's tweetabulous!

  69. I think that fabric is ROCKTASTIC!!! I love it and will probably be getting some from your store, it is fabulous. I used to be so good at english when I was in high school but it's a proven study that facebook makes you dumber, and I'm guilty lol. The only thing I could think of is Holy Flock!! I love that material, but that's just a poor use of the work flock which relates to birds. OOhh, or it would be FOWL of you to not let me win this giveaway. hehe. I even went so far as to consult a thesaurus but I still came up with nothing lol. And I am so unoriginal I don't think it's part of my make up to be able to create new and rocktastic words. :)
