I get so inspired by the many "trash to treasure" type posts.
I've been watching Natalie do quite a bit over the last year. Spray paint is her friend.
So I wanted spray paint to be my friend too.
And now we are Best Friends Forever!
I perused my local Home Depot and found some aqua in a can and sprayed until I was happy, happy.
Mmmm....still happy.
But Charlie isn't??
I never see the treasure through the trash, then I see what others do and think why can't I do that??? Did you do a layer of crackle to it as well? Love the color!
ReplyDeleteOh! I wish spray paint were my friend. I needed to do a bunch of it for mobiles. Craig said he would help. He did everything but the final coat. He said "You can handle it" but I botched it big time. So we didn't take any mobiles to the last market.
ReplyDeletePaint of any sort isn't my friend. Though I love collecting paint chips and I like your blue!
Love, Love, Love the chair. The color is fantastic. Spray paint is my friend too. Here is a little tip...if you have alot to spray, buy one of the handles that slips over the push botton, so it becomes a trigger spray. You use all fingers instead of just your pointer finger. I sprayed so much one time, I lost the feeling in the tip of my finger for a while. Still feels funny now!!!
ReplyDelete~Karen~
inside my front door i have a basket on bar chair that holds scarves & gloves. so i am a member of the "use a chair club". not very good with paint. so i was glad mine didn't need a touch up. love love your transformation.
ReplyDeleteLove the chair, the colour is neat.
ReplyDeleteIf I spray painted, there would be no stopping me.
Love the chair! It looks really happy on your porch. :-) Charlie looks like a real sweetie pie too!
ReplyDeleteOhhh! I love, love, love it! The aqua against that brick red-- awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove that color! I would be happy too~!
ReplyDeleteI paint all my chairs at home to coordinate with my blog too!
ReplyDeleteBut that is definitely a disapproving look from Charlie.
mmmmm..yes. Happiness in a can. INSTANT gratification, and I know that's big in your book Des. :-)
ReplyDeleteDes, you never cease to amaze me! You need to branch out and really get into the trash to treasure thing (cake plates, etc.). You have an eye!
ReplyDeleteI’ve just been biting my nails waiting for your chair post, and I’m not disappointed - Your chair rocks! Such good bones, and the best color ever - I’m coveting a little bit! Spray paint IS my BFF too, you funny girl! Cheers to new addictions!
ReplyDeleteMy 4 year old is standing right by me & just asked if I'm going to buy that dog, with a hopeful look on his face. My kids are always asking for more pets. Nice ears!
Love it~ your flowers are beautiful, they look painted. You have such a cute porch.
ReplyDeleteLove that color! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you became fast friends with that spray paint...love the chair!
ReplyDeletegreat looking chair! Spray paint has become my friend too.
ReplyDeletelove the aqua! and it goes so well with the brown dog!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! That aqua is my facvorite color right now and the pink petunias are PERFECT with the aqua. It looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteAww, Charlie needs a hug!
I need to go get that color. I can't find aqua at OSH (our hardware store, but we have Home Depot too). Seriously, we have a beat up old chair sitting on our porch too, and I am going to do that this week! And put some flowers on it too (I hope you don't mind I am copying you). The chair has been sitting there for months, and a neighbor must have been tired of it because we came home one weekend and there was a teddy bear sitting on it. Kinda weird.
ReplyDeleteWho said you couldn't do Martha Stewart, Des! I'm throwing out all her books and stickin' with you kiddo! Beautiful chair!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
love the color you chose. great job!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the chair. I have a hard time seeing things in a different light so I enjoy it when other say what they have done then I think "hey I can do that"
ReplyDeleteI love your patio! Love it! The chair is perfect for it, too!
