We are having a SALE again in our eBay store.
eBay's making some changes; we're making some changes, so let's move it out! If you've bought something from us & thought I'd like some more -- chances are we might still have it. We have many 'end of the bolts' that aren't listed, plus all of the stuff I hoard in a special corner :). More will be listed every day. There are a few auctions, too.
Don't purchase many tomatoes my husband doesn't like them. But the 7 yr old is warming up so I'll have to start making her and I some tomatoey treats. :)
ReplyDeleteTomatoes taste great. Without them there would be no T in the classic BLT! Great give-away. Thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteIs sun dried or roasted tomatoes really that nice? I have seen many cooking shows using them but have never tried them.
ReplyDeleteThere,s nothing better than a fresh picked tomato sandwich on toast with mayo! I'm getting hungry.
ReplyDeletemmm BLTs, toasted tomato sandwiches, sliced tomatos with salt and pepper-yum yum yum!
ReplyDeletethanx for the chance
Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to use it in a smoothie!
ReplyDeleteLove tomatoes at our house!
Thanks for giving away the pretty solids! Kona is lovely stuff.
It seemed like winter was never going to end this year, so we bought tomato plants that already had some small fruits on them and kept them indoors for a couple weeks. It only felt a little bit like cheating. Fresh-picked tomatoes from the garden are the best.
ReplyDeleteMy tomatoes are very happy with the very hot weather.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win.. I love fried green tomatoes and pickled green tomatoes... YUM..
ReplyDeleteI used to hate tomatoes (what kid doesn't), but as I've gotten older I like them more and more. On pizza, in salads, in sauces, on pizza..wait did I say that one already...ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI have a small spot next to my garage where I plant tomatoes every year. The year we planted cherry tomatoes was the best crop we ever had. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteHow did you know that I'll be off to buy tomatoes in just a couple of minutes??? O_O
ReplyDeleteContact:librosfera(at)gmail(dot)com
I hate tomatoes ^__^ but I love the colours .... I usually eat the pizza without tomatoes .... ^__*
ReplyDeleteFried green tomatoes and tomatoe relish - yummm
ReplyDeleteI don't eat tomatoes if I can help it. To me they taste weird. Love the fabric though!
ReplyDeleteBlogger won't let me use my profile again! What on earth is up with it, this has been going on for weeks now!

This year we have plenty of tomatoe-plants as my dad and I have sown five different sorts. Hopefully we can soon eat till we drop.
ReplyDeletetagepia@city.dk
Growing up we had one whole 4'x8' raised bed just for tomatoes and my sister and I use to go out and pick the ripe one to eat like apples! My favorite were the yellow ones!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing better than a homegrown tomato. I wish we could grown them, but the heat and birds get them. Love the Kona solids you chose! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWe hardly ever buy tomatoes. My neighbour grows them and provides us with more than we can eat, I usually end up making jars and jars of chutney which last us through the winter.
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes but they make my lips sting!
ReplyDeleteI make the best green tomato chutney on the planet LOL
I love tomatoes, fresh, cooked, diced, juiced, sauced - anyway! Yum Yum! Thanks for the chance to win these cute fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI have a great tomato story. When my husband was a toddler he looooved tomatoes. One day his Mum caught him after he had taken a single bite out of almost every single tomato in a bushel box .... he didn't eat tomatoes again for a few years.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, my Dad grew tomatoes on his farm, and I would go out into the field and pick either the plums or the 38's and bring my salt shaker and eat a bunch. These days, I refuse to buy tomatoes in the store as there is nothing like a fresh New Jersey tomato!!
ReplyDeleteTomatoes rule. I always prayed to God that I would never be allergic to tomatoes (or chocolate).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE TOMATOES AND I LOVE THE COLOUR RED, THAT KONA TOMATO IS STUNNING, NICKY
ReplyDeleteYum, I love tomatoes! We are growing lots of different kinds in our garden. Some grown from seed started in Feb! I also love Kona!
ReplyDeleteI can't stand tomatoes. I hate the flavour and the texture. As I also detest onions, it can make eating a bit of a challenge!
ReplyDeleteLove tomatoes! Use to grow tomatoes, but can't anymore because the deer always eat them.
ReplyDeleteWill be awhile before there are tomatoes from my garden. We don't like them raw but I cook up lots of sauce for the year!
ReplyDeleteYummy! I love cherry tomatoes, just wash and pop in your mouth. My 2 yr old loves them the same way :)
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes and this year I'm growing 7 varieties! Last year I lost them all to blight!!
ReplyDeleteI love summer when my 87 year old neighbor brings me some of his home grown tomatoes. Delicious! I take him lots of home baked cookies to thank him and encourage him to keep the tomatoes coming.
ReplyDeleteA favorite childhood memory is "borrowing" mama's salt shaker, hiding behind the pole beans in the garden and eating plump juicy vine ripe tomatoes - dirt and all. I can still taste those red beauties.
ReplyDeletei've 2 tomato plants on my back porch and finally there is a tiny pea size tomato!
ReplyDeleteOh yes tomatoes...the one sweet fruit I could never live without...seriously...we possibly eat them at least 5 days a week...tonight in a brushchetta base, tomorrow a quiche, the weekend in a chili...( we will be camping) and why did I come here...ohhhhh yes your fabulous kona choices...wow!...I do love kona...and it is my choice for background fabrics..yes....lol
ReplyDeleteI am growing 6 different types of tomatos in my garden! We love tomatos! thanks!
ReplyDeletebutler83ataoldotcom
Have you ever eaten the small yellow pear tomatos? They are simply fantastic. We had a patch in our garden when I was little and I used to sit out there for hours picking and eating them. After a week or 2 of this however, I developed a really bad rash that took another week to get rid of. I def. kept eating the tomatos but spent less time in the patch after that :)
ReplyDelete... and that fabric looks rather yummy and rash-free! :-D
I am hoping my Dad's tomatoes do well this year. I love good fresh vine ripened tomatoes. Mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteI love real, fresh tomatoes from the garden in a really simple salad. So much better than many you buy in the grocery stores!
ReplyDeleteLovely set of colors. Tomatoes--love to eat them here and there, love to eat them everywhere. Warm tomatoes from the sun, fresh picked garden basil, mozzarella, freshly ground black pepper, a drizzle of olive oil and a splash of vinegar. Divine.
ReplyDeleteGrowing my tomatoes and I have 3 that I picked so far. Now after picking the "suckers" off I hope to get some more soon;) Tomatoes from the garden top any other vegetable-YUMMY:)
ReplyDeleteIt has taken me a lifetime to develop a likeness for tomoatoes, likeness, not love. My favorite way to eat them is sliced, w/fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and drizzled w/balsalmic vinegar and olive oil.
ReplyDeletehave 7 tomato plants in the garden! plannin' on cannin'!! love those 4 colors you picked :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have about 6 tomato plants growing in the garden right now. My dh loves them fresh picked, with salt...I only like them if they are mooshed into sauce :D
ReplyDeleteI like eating tomatoes! Cooked ones have more nutrition than raw ones I think.
ReplyDeleteJersey tomatoes are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until the home grown tomatoes are ripe! Love them. Love the Kona colors too!
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you should mention tomatoes! We picked our first tomato last night and had BLT's. I commented that it was the best $30 tomato I'd ever had. Yep, thirty bucks, the Topsy Turvy Tomato planter ( 2 of them), the plants, the 2 bags of potting soil, the miracle grow, and water every day!! I miss Jersey tomatoes here in Georgia. They ARE the best!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteThis year I started a garden and I've planted 2 tomato plants!! Hoping I will get lots of tomatoes and our family loves to make pico de galo! :) yum yum! thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteI love homegrown tomatoes. We have one getting close to ripe in our yard. Hope we get it and not the squirrels:) Love the aqua and tomato Kona solids.
ReplyDeleteI'm a tomato snob... I will only eat local & vine ripened tomatoes... Otherwise, what's the point?
ReplyDeleteI don't really like tomatoes, but I love growing them :-)
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes, but usually only homegrown! Right now my parents have quite a few & we just are having tomato sandwiches for lunch - YUM! My summertime favorite! :)amycspals@yahoo. com
ReplyDeleteI would love to own such gorgeous fabric! Sherry keithriggs@windstream.net
ReplyDeleteA fresh tomato sandwich in the summer is absolutely amazing! IT can't compare to store bought tomatoes...it's so juicy and delish!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a lovely giveaway!
Before I married, hubby would not eat tomatoes. His mother never served them and he decided he did not like them at all. I couldn't fathom someone never eating tomatoes, esp since they had a garden! I was the city kid with no experience. Well, after coaxing him to give them a try he now loves them! It's the one thing he makes sure is in the garden now....I love me a fresh picked tomato with salt! yum!
ReplyDeleteI would love to own such gorgeous fabrics! The red is brighter than tomatoes! Sherry keithriggs@windstream.net
ReplyDeleteI've got 5 medium to small tomatoes from my garden on my counter finishing their ripening. I'm the only one that eats them so they're all mine!
ReplyDeleteFor the first time ever, I planted tomatoes. And they're beautiful! Who knew gardening was so satisfying?
ReplyDeleteMost of my kids won't eat tomatoes, but I absolutely love them -- on a BLT, in caprese salad, in red curry, in turkey pot pie, broiled in the oven on top of cheddar on top of bread (till the cheese is all bubbly). Mmmm. Now I'm hungry. Thanks for the chance at those gorgeous solids! jessierey(at)msn(dot)com
ReplyDeleteMy dad is getting my daughter 2 tomato plants for her birthday. It'll probably be the same as the pea plants, she'll pick them, but won't eat them.
ReplyDeleteLove tomatoes fresh from the garden. This year I have tried cherry tomatoes. Picked about 8 so far and more to come. It's like eating candy! And BLTs are our favorite quick easy summer supper!
ReplyDeletemy hubby loves to make tomato sandwiches the night before and then take them to work the next day when the bread's all squishy and tomatoey!!!! I'd much rather eat handfuls of those little sweet grape tomatoes!! Yum! and even more yummy is tomato red fabric....my altime fave!!!
ReplyDeletesugary hugs
Wendy :O)
We LOVE tomatoes! I wish I could grow them, cause I think we would eat them at every meal. I never used to be a big fan of tomatoes, but when we started getting the farm grown local tomatoes, oh my, they are so sweet and delicious :-)
ReplyDeleteTomatoes - YUCK!! Don't like them fresh, cooked, smashed, in ketchup - not in anything!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway. It was 110 degrees at my house yesterday!
I love the color of tomatoes; but, I can't stand to eat them! LOL. :-D
ReplyDeleteThere is a town south of me, that has a "Pink Tomato Festival" every year. They use tomatoes in everything you can think of....cake...pie...salad of course, you name it, they put tomatoes in it. And they even have a "Miss Pink Tomato" and a tomato eating contest. You gotta love tomatoes to have a good time there! I like them on my salads and in tacos. If they are good ones, I can just eat them with a little salt. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!!!
The only good tomato is a fresh local one in the summer!
ReplyDeleteWe have had the best cherry tomatoes this year in our garden despite the bad drought!
ReplyDeleteI love cherry and grape tomoatos..especially the yellow ones.
ReplyDeleteI have 8 varities of heirloom tomatoes in my garden & two are just starting to show color! Getting excited to try them. theres nothing like a tomatoe straight from the garden! Karen P.
ReplyDeleteacp328@yahoo.com
I confess Red is my favorite color and I love Cherry tomatoes. Have always kept a fruit bowl of cherry tomatoes on the bench and everyone eats them instead of lollies/chips when peckish.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of them, but my Grandpa grows them in his garden every year. He grows enough to have a pound a day of tomatos ripe and nice. My dad turns them all into Tomato Juice and salsa!
ReplyDeleteI decided to attempt to grow some this year. The one tomato plant I planted has grown very tall, but I hadn't seen any sign of tomatoes until yesterday! We have two baby green tomatoes starting! Yay! I just love the bight red color they produce!
ReplyDeleteLove me some tomatoes! Also, love those Kona solids.
ReplyDeleteI am currently growing hundreds of tomatoes! I also sell them at the farmers market. this year i am growing 15 variaties. the ones i keep usually get planted in my flower beds.

Every year, when we plant our 'Fresh Salsa Garden', more than anything I anticipate those first ripe tomatoes. When they are ready, hubby and I take our salt shaker out to the garden, pick a tomato from the vine and sit on the grass eating our freshly picked tomatoes with the juice running down our hands and dripping on our clean clothes...but it doesn't matter because they are a wonderful treat. We love em! Hugs...
ReplyDeleteJust planted some Heirloom tomatoes...can't wait for them to start producing!!! We live near the tomato capital of Canada...Leamington, ON...home of Heinz!!!
ReplyDeletedmifflin@netrover.com
My tomatoes are doing nicely in my garden. Best part of summer is having that first tomato on dark grain bread with a little salt.
ReplyDeletegasuski@mac.com
I have been trying hard to grow tomatoes in my garden.. I had some flowers on them.. and then the hail came (insert big sad face). I hope the plants aren't damaged, and that more tomatoes will come. It is just REALLY HOT here.. hope they survive!
ReplyDeleteThe last commenter stole my comment! LOL I planted Heirloom tomatoes for the first time this year - and I live in Ontario too!
ReplyDeleteI have two tomatoe plants this year. One cherry tomatoes and one roma. Both already have tiny little green tomatoes growing. Can't wait for them to be ripe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.

Ooh, love tomatoes, especially in a Caprese salad.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to have tomato's coming out of our ears this summer. We started with 20 plants but hubby decided to try new varieties. We now have 39!!!
ReplyDeleteRobin W.
I have several teeny tomatoes on my plants in the garden. Can't wait till they're ready. Eating them warm from the vine is so yummy!
ReplyDeleteTomatoes, they taste good, and I love them no matter the size or shape. I had garden one year that I filled with my aged horse manure and oh boy I had tomatoes that year. I canned, stewed, gave them away. What a year that was. I am hoping this year is just as productive.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win something from you, instead of buying would be nice. I have to make myself not shop with you. Oh the lure of fabric!!
thanks cathy
I have a confession to make about tomatoes....I do not like vine-ripen ones. I grew up on the hard tomatoes at the grocery store. Hence, I love the warehouse tomatoes.....what a sad tale! Love these fabrics
ReplyDelete(I have the hardest time logging in - here's my email: 105KCook@gmail.com
Tomatoes are like candy at my house... we love them and use them for alot of cooking. They help extend dishes, they make great bowls too!
ReplyDeleteThank You for sharing the Kona Solida they are great!
I think we are at least a month away from harvesting any tomatoes from our garden.
ReplyDeleteI have to go thin my tomatoes out today, so that last year does not repeat itself.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of my tomato plant. Sometimes I go outside and take a pick whiff of its leaves, then go back inside. :)
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to tomatoes, but hubby won't touch them so I have to sneak them into the house!!!
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes! I hope my plants start producing soon. YUM YUM!!
ReplyDeletemdpntemp (at) hotmail (dot) com
I see nine tomatoes sitting on the shelf by the window in my kitchen. As red as the Kona in the photo!
ReplyDeleteKona cottons are my favorite! Fresh garden tomatoes are the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteI've only recently (past two years) become a fan of tomatoes. I don't know why it took until then but I'm happy to add them to salads and sandwiches these days. Love the Konda solids you picked out. Thanks for the chance to win. jmniffer
ReplyDeleteTomatoes are one of Earth's most perfect foods.
ReplyDeleteOh......my favorite colors!

Tomatoes are the very product one of my daughters are growing along side her basil to serve fresh with balsamic vinegar!
Have a great day!
Blessings~

I love it when my mom sets out stuff so we can have tomato and basil sandwiches. With lots of mayo!
ReplyDeleteI love all of those colors! I even have some fabrics they would coordinate with!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about the tomato statement. My DH just went yesterday and bought me some of the biggiest, most beautiful tomatoes he could find - fresh out of the garden. I love bacon and tomato sandwiches. While he is out of town, I will have at least one a day! LOL
I love tomatoes!! My grandson and I can polish off two just like apples! I also cannot get on with my Google account--but I am janetpawelek@gmail.com!!
ReplyDeleteI love fried tomatoes...love these fabrics...so pretty...I am unable to post comments on my Google account...ksergas@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOur three tomato plants took a beating with all the hail, but look like they may survive to produce the greatest summer fruit!
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather used to grow pear tomatoe bushes when I was a little girl. Whenever we would go visit him, he would send me out to pick them. And instead of picking them, I would just sit there and pick and eat them.
ReplyDeleteGreat memory! Thank you for reminding me.
I have trouble growing anything in my garden...last year I got HUGE tomatoes but they didn't ripen so I made green tomato pie...it actually tasted like apples :)
ReplyDeleteI like fried green tomatoes, but my dad frowns on us picking HIS tomatoes before they are ripe! lol
ReplyDeletekimrward@charter.net
Yum....love those colors! Tomatoes...my husband is obsessed with them. His garden overflows with them and then they cover my countertop and eventually attract fruit flies. Where do those things come from???? I'm not a big tomato fan so when I get tomatoes in my meal at a restaurant I always give them to him. Because loving tomatoes trumps thinking they are OK...every time.
ReplyDeleteI love growing tomatoes so I usually have too many and can sauces, but my favorite way to eat them is sliced with basil and mozzarella then drizzle balsamic over the whole thing...yummmm!
ReplyDeleteI love a nice tomato on my hamburger. :)
ReplyDeleteheidikittelson at gmail dot com
love tomatoes. have one plant . lindagerig@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteUgh. I hate tomatoes. But they sure are a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteIn the warm summer in Spain we eat a lot of Gazpacho and Salmorejo. We prefer the latter, it's so fresh for dinner and I love it with some chopped hard boiled eggs and chopped serrano ham on top:
ReplyDelete1,5 kg mature tomates
A little garlic (depending on how strong you want it, or make it without)
100 grs bread (best if from the day before)
30 grs vinager.
100 gr Olive oil
salt
Mix it all together at high speed during several minutes in the mixer (do you call it so)) and put in the fridge so it gets very cold.
Delicious!
Tomatoes--my husband says he doesn't like them, but I love them. So I don't really get to eat them unless I go out to a restaurant!
ReplyDeleteI love fresh tomatoes, cut up and with lots of onions and some chives on top. Put on buttered fresh bread and you've got the most marvelous sandwich!!!
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes, just had brushetta the other day and it was great. Thanks

My whole family loves tomatoes, I'm just now ( twenty some years later)starting to eat them fresh. Funny thing is: I've always loved Ketchup on everything!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes. As a child growing my Grandmother would have sliced red tomatoes at every meal. I really liked it when she would go out to her garden and pick a fresh one and slice it up...still warm from the sun.

ReplyDeleteyum, tomatoes! I used to hate them but now I love them on everything!
ReplyDeleteIf we forget to close the garden gate, our dog eats all the ripe Romas!
ReplyDeleteWish I liked tomatoes but I don't. My husband always plants about 6 to 7 plants in our garden and when they are ready he goes out there and eats them just like an apple. I take them extras to work as we always have way to many. Wish we could grow Chocolate like that!
ReplyDeletelsandes@comcast.net
Nothing can beat a bacon,TOMATO,lettuce, onion, with miracle whip sandwich.
ReplyDeleteGrowing my own again this year.
cherry tomatoes in a BLT salad . . . yummmmm.
ReplyDeleteplanted ours in pots this year, third planting...
ReplyDeleteTomatoes are great and so versatile. Everything from sandwiches to sauce. Unfortunately, this year, I only have one tomato plant, but it is a cherry tomato and has lots of flowers so hopefully, lots of tomatoes. Love the solid-colour fabrics, and just like tomatoes, they are so versatile.
ReplyDeleteI just read about bread salad and now I can't wait to get to the store to buy tomatoes! And a great loaf of bread!
ReplyDeleteMy garden is 90% tomatoes - romas, grape, cherries, big ones, little ones, heirlooms, from seed, from the farmers market... all in bloom and a few setting fruit. I am drooling in the anticipation (and the basil is waiting in the wings!)
ReplyDeleteI do not love hot weather, but you've gotta love a season that bring those big, red, juicy homegrown tomatoes!!! I've never met one I didn't like!
ReplyDeleteI love garden tomatoes! Unfortunately our garden tomatoes are not surviving this summer heat in Texas. I miss my Utah garden.
ReplyDeleteOne year my Sweetie planted a bunch of tomato plants and they looked like they were dying, so he got another bunch of tomato plants and planted them. A day or so later he observed that they were dying, so he got another bunch of tomato plants and planted them. The unexpected happened -- all of the dying plants recovered, and they produced lots of tasty tomatoes -- so close together that they were hard to pick!
ReplyDeleteWe were in the garden this morning and found a HUGE worm as big as my middle finger on the tomatoes!! No!!! Don't eat my tasty tomatoes!!

Fresh slice of tomato with a little salt and pepper. Yum
ReplyDeleteWe grew tomatoes when I was little. I never understood why they never made it to the dinner table until I caught my mom sitting in the garden eating them straight from the vine...
ReplyDeleteTomatoes are my husband's favorite!
ReplyDeleteMy great-grandfather was a tomato farmer in Texas. Maybe that is why I have always loved tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteFresh tomatoes. Ahhh....there is absolutely nothing better. My all time favorite thing is a fresh tomatoe samich. White bread (I know, not healthy), fresh tomatoe, mayonaise (again, not healthy) and lots of salt and pepper. I could eat these three times a day for the rest of my life. I LOVE THEM! YUM. ME.
ReplyDeleteI love fresh tomatoes. I refuse to eat any tomatoes in the winter. Last year we had a cool , as in temperature, summer in Oregon: not many tomatoes. I have ten tomato plants in my garden this year, hoping for more sun.
ReplyDeleteThe three tomato plants in my garden are doing very little growing. Well, this morning it is overcast and 50 degrees. How can a tomato thrive under such conditions?
ReplyDeleteOh, how I long for a freshly picked tomato, ripened on the vine! After seven years of trying, I have yet to experience such a thing here in the Pacific NW. So sad.

Our fresh from the garden tomatoes taste so much better than those from the grocery store. Tomato sandwiches are good for you too! Love those Kona solids, especially the tomato red.
ReplyDeleteMy DH's mom grows tomatoes that are so good you can eat them like candy. Otherwise I'm not a fan. But I love the color!!!
ReplyDeleteI finally have some tomatoes growing! I am most excited about making some fried green tomatoes!! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes. My grandma used to line her window sills on the sun-soaked porch with tomatoes from her garden and I would eat them like apples - warm, sweet, delicious. I need to win this fabric! I'm doing a quilt in just these colors, and I just got stuck on bed rest for the remainder of the pregnancy, so I'm getting a lot of hand-sewing time. :) Maybe the random generator will feel sorry for me - ha.
ReplyDeleteI recently ran a 10km race - dressed as a tomato! (true)
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor has tomatoes. She built a little fence around them so the dogs don't bother the plants. When she leaves the dogs alone, they stand on the little fence and pick green "balls" off the plants. They play ball until it falls apart. Then it starts all over again :) I love it!
ReplyDeleteTomatoes, tomatoes the musical fruit...er...wait, that's not how it goes! On a less silly note - every year I say I'm not going to grow tomatoes on my deck, and every year I do! I just can't help myself!
ReplyDeleteSpread a little chicken manure around your tomato plants and they will grow into massive bushes! It's true. I tried it and the plants were taller than me with oodles of tomatoes on them.
ReplyDeleteI had yummy romas on my lunch salad today! So crisp and fresh!! =) Cant wait till my garden starts producing them so I dont have to buy them!!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a weird fascination of juggling tomatoes before I ate them. Usually they just ended up hitting the ceiling and then the floor.
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes! There's nothing like homemade tomato juice!
ReplyDeleteI love ketchup, but don't really like tomatoes. I LOVE those colors. thanks!
ReplyDeletehiyall,
ReplyDeletenothing sezs summer like a homegrown mater sammich! I am trading a bag of tomatos for machine quilting a quilt for a friend. she has a huge garden every year and this year we are trading skills! (mauh) Liz P.S. I love those colors!
I cooked my first fried green tomatoes of the summer this past week. Yum! :o)
ReplyDeleteYummy, Tomato is my very favorite Kona color. My husband buys tomatoes all year round but I turn my nose up at any that aren't local-ripe. I can spot a hothouse fruit a mile away.
ReplyDeleteTomatoes - how I miss them! Especially fresh home grown on a BLT with blue cheese crumbles. On pizza. At a great Italian restaurant.
ReplyDeleteSadly, they cause migraines for me, and I have to live without them!
Enjoy them for me!
I used to HATE tomatoes with a passion but now I love eating them! They say that your tastes change when you get older... :o)
ReplyDeleteYellow tomatoes make the most wonderful sauce for stuffed ravioli.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a fresh, sun ripe tomato from the garden! Home made tomato juice is like drinking sunshine in the middle of winter!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love tomato products (ketchup, pasta sauce, soup) I hate tomatoes themself LOL
ReplyDeleteI saw my very first couple of quarter-sized toms out in the garden!! Can't wait till they are big and juicy!
ReplyDeleteTomatoes! Yum! I always need to have tomatoes in my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way the movie 'Fried green tomatoes' is a fantastic movie!
Love tomatoes especially those little grape tomatoes that are fun to eat...like eating candy! Also love me some Kona cottons! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have one big green tomato on one of my plants; the others are supposed to be cherry tomatoes...we'll see how they grow!
ReplyDeleteI picked my first ripe tomato yesterday (I'm in MO)! It was not very big...but still....Okay, so I cheated a little and just bought the plant from the nursery 3 weeks ago and it already had green babies on it!! I'd enjoy some tomato Kona too!
ReplyDeleteI eat tomatoes like apples in the summer!! Oh yummy!! - I HAVE to win this one :)
ReplyDeleteAs kids, my brother and I would go in our garden and grab a tomato for a snack during the summertime.
ReplyDeleteWe have no tomatoes yet but by golly the summer squash is already taking over. Love the combination of aqua and tomato!
ReplyDeleteMy husband said that he had his first real tomato of the summer the other night. I'd love to have some of those Konas. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for the first ripe tomatoes from the garden - BLTs here we come!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love small and sweet cherry tomatoes!!
ReplyDeleteWe've been enjoying tiny cherry tomatoes from our little garden. There's nothing like a sun warmed ripe tomato straight from the vine.
ReplyDelete(supermomnocape at yahoo dot com)
I love to pick a very ripe tomato off the vine, slice it up, add it to bread smeared with mayo and sprinkle a little salt on top. YUMMY tomato sandwiches warmed by the sun!
ReplyDeleteAhhh....tomatoes. Hated them. Thought I hated them. Mainly b/c they give me canker sores. BUT when I was pregnant with my son, I didn't get canker sores, so I learned to like ....erm....LOVE tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteMy MIL went on a 10-day trip this week and gave us about 25 tomatoes before she left with the instruction to make salsa or something and my husband has been bringing home more each day from her house...only problem, we haven't been home or not busy enough to do anything with them! Aaaahhh...I'm being attacked by a tomato monster and I don't even have time to have a BLT or tomato sandwich much less make salsa.
ReplyDeleteLove Em...have 4 plants in our back yard. My father in law starts them for us every year. We are spoiled!
ReplyDeleteJodie :)
I love tomatoes, and especially BLT's in summer. This year I am trying to grow them on my balcony in one of those containers that you hang and they grow out the bottom. We will see what happens.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love tomatoes! I only planted 7 plants this year! Hope to be in tomato heaven this summer!
ReplyDeleteWe did not have a good year with Tomatoes here, too much rain and not enough sun! So versatile, I love them!
ReplyDeleteI love home grown tomatoes! If I could only grow one thing- it would be tomatoes! I love to take the salt shaker out to the garden when it's time to pick the first one and eat it right there in the garden. Can't beat that!:)

I really don't care for tomatoes, but love ketchup, tomato sauce, pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, etc - go figure??????
ReplyDeleteI used to grow tomatoes, but now we just pick them up at the farmers market and use them in salads, salsas, and everything, but my favorite is on toasted french bread with smokey bacon and a teensy bit of mayo!
ReplyDeleteI love the cherry tomatoes straight off the vines!! Bit of salt makes them extra special. I am so sad, I am drooling over my keyboard now. It is winter here, bring on summer and cherry tomatoes!! Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tomatoes are the little cherry tomatoes. Great to pick and eat right off the vine! Oh happy summer! Thanks for the chance to win some cool summer Kona's! Email (remove spaces to reply) kwiley @ comcast.net
ReplyDeleteI love all types of tomatoes. Love red tomatoes and green (slightly green) tomatoes. I grew up in a family that always grew fresh tomatoes. And, with my mother coming from the South we definitely ate fried green tomatoes, as well as tomato sandwiches. Ok. I've set the stage for my funny hubby tomato story. Well, the event that "almost" determined he wasn't going to become my hubby.
ReplyDeleteWhile dating we went on a bike ride with picnic lunch. I made sandwiches (w/meat) and fresh homegrown slices of tomatoes on them. While riding he said he was hungry, but when we setup for our picnic lunch and he looked at his sandwich he said he wasn't hungry. I later learned he didn't like tomatoes. Well, after 24 years of marriage he now LOVES tomatoes, especially homegrown tomatoes. So, I'm happy I didn't toss him back for being a non-tomatoe eater on one of our first dates.
