Quilt Market Memories

-- Portland Quilt Market --
seems like forever ago.

Well, I know you don't come here
 for the latest breaking news,
yeah, I've read a couple of blogs
 to see what really happened,
but to prove we went.

Here are my selective
Quilt Market Memories...

Thoroughly enjoyed talking with Jodie of Ric Rac,
 designer of these darling softies.

I really want that masked monkey.
Her patterns are in our shop.

This is Deanne.
We made the Portland road trip together.
She is a magnet for
interesting comments from strangers.
We had a lot of funny encounters.

One of our encounters was with
Heather Bailey.
She has 6 new
embroidery patterns coming out.

She gave us a personal demo of how
she did the amazing bird stitchery.
She just offered.
I'm going to assume she only offered that to us.

I was reading Sew Mama Sews recap of market
and here WE are on their blog.  haha

She's chain-stitching with a
large curved needle
from the front of the piece.

Are you familiar with Mo Willems?
His Pigeon or Elephant and Piggie books?
At our house, we love them.

Cloud 9 is coming out with fabric of
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!
We'll have all of the prints when released.

There was lots of stitchery.
These are from Penguin and Fish
and Aneela Hoey journals
already stitched for you.
Smart.

I know this doesn't look like much, but
it was darling.
Little tulle pom pom balls with
lace bows spaced every so often,
crisscrossing above our heads.
Just so pretty.
I think it was at the AE Nathan booth???
Couldn't find any pics on their site.

 Lori Holt's Bake Sale fabric.
So retro and colorful.

We were invited to a little sewing session
with Bari J.
She taught us to embroider
on her new line of fabric, Bijoux.

Yes, I did stitch it to my pants,
but no harm done.

For you Ghastlie fans,
there's a new line coming out --
A Ghastlie Holiday!

 Here we are eavesdropping on
 Tula Pink and her friends.
I know it was TP, because her name
is tattooed on her fingers.

Oh Moustaches...everywhere.

And here our ride comes to an end
 in the Michael Miller swan.

Please disembark,
get all of your belongings
and go home!

  1. It's so fun to see where you had been to at Market! That is a very cool idea for embroidery that HB showed you. I loved making the dolly from Ric Rac patterns. Reminds me... she might need some new clothes! It's hard to say goodbye to Portland isn't it?

  7. How fun! Always best to view Quilt Market from in front of my computer. Been there in the flesh too many times and my feet hurt just to think about it. But I'll be there in Pittsburgh next Spring because I can drive and only stay 2 days! Thanks for all the inspiration. Looks like you had a great time.
