I like big, bold and chunky as well as the next guy.
And no, I'm not talking about my closet!
I have been on the new designer and all of her/his gorgeous -art work- bandwagon for a few years now. I love seeing what they come up with in their colors and prints.
Who would want to cut up all those gorgeous damasks and paisleys the size of small countries?? Not me.
That's why these materials lend themselves to quick and easy quilts. I just want to see large pieces of this draped all over my body.
Don't visualize that. It's lunchtime.
I'm an all or nothing gal usually. I thought I had turned a corner.....taken a leap......jumped in head first.....never to return again to the small dainty print.
I was wrong.
I have reconnected with my first love and I still love her.
I finished all the applique on this lovely Serendipity Sampler and I'm hooked all over again.
I loved every meticulous moment.
I loved opening up these bags and digging through all the small prints
to finish off leaves and berries. There's nothing Kimmie loves more than dozens of leaves and berries. Why have 6 berries when you could have 60??!!
I think I'll whip her up a t-shirt with that on it.
I'm actually sad that the applique part is over.
I can see why you love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's great. It's welcome to hang at my house.
ReplyDeleteWow! You definately deserve the praise! It's beautiful. And please share all those pictures. I'm still struggling with the bulb tops from 2 days ago!
ReplyDeleteOh I do love it! I would never make such a quilt so I'm glad you did! Keep sharing photos!
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely BUT looks like a LOT of work. I am so not into a LOT OF WORK. Blech. Handsewing on a binding was enough of a workout for me. Yes, do send that to Corrie to hang in her house. I love seeing the quilts when they are all finished. Let's see a quilt out of that new AB fabric too. :D
ReplyDeleteOh Des, I love it you need to pat your self on the back it is beautiful:) Great job:) I am so proud of you!!!

ReplyDelete6 or 60 when it comes to berries does it really matter. You have inspired me to also go back to some of my unfinished projects and well there are many. Pat yourself on the back again for me you did a beautiful job. love ya

ReplyDeleteYou not only make me giggle, but you consistently amaze me! The quilt is beautiful! Brava!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love your version of that quilt...nice to see it in a completely different colour wave and that just proves the point that a good design can handle any fabric combo. Any ideas on how you are going to quilt it? I can't wait to see the next steps and the video :o)
ReplyDeleteThat is simply gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt. What a talented girl you are! Wanna make one for all your faithful readers? Don't answer right away. Think about it.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is just beautiful. I need to get back to my applique. It seems to be one of those things that, once I put it down, it doesn't get picked up again for a long time. Then I too, remember how much I love it.
ReplyDeleteGood work! Join me next Friday for "Finished for Friday."
