It was served with a side order of CornBread that was FANTASTIC!!
i'll have to try your recipe. love a good soup. especially one that is ready in 20 minutes. thank you Bets.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness that looks good.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to try this! The corn bread seems a little out of my league (heat oil til the pan is smoking?? Is that dangereous? Yikes!) But the chowder sounds and looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI kind of glance over the "til smoking" part of the recipe -- I just heat the oil until I'm sure it's good and hot! Also, my cornbread get done about 5 minutes earlier than the recipe states. Maybe because of our high altitude (~5000 feet above sea level)?
ReplyDeleteThat chowder looks like a hearty meal! I would need to substitute the pork sausage though. Mmmmm, cornbread. :D
ReplyDeleteIt was all very very good. Cute recipe card, Des. Someone broke the blender, actually, I'm sure it was broken before we arrived. So they (Shelto, I think) had to mince/cut up the corn up by hand. But it was worth it. Thanks Betsy!
ReplyDeleteMince chop and dice I did all for a great corn bread. I will be making chowder and corn bread tomorrow thanks for the recipe Bets I just hope my blender is working. and the great tips
ReplyDeleteI used turkey sausage for the retreat -- it was great! Shelto, you went above and beyond the call of duty hand-chopping that corn for me :)
