Homage to a Dirty House~A Giveaway

Update: #58 Jill! wins!!
Have fun creating and NOT cleaning.
Thanks and see you next week!

Put your hand over your heart and repeat after me
The messiness of my house is a testament to the creativity of my soul.
I just made that up!
Where's my fabric line??

Today, let us celebrate the amount of time spent at our sewing machines. This very funny, and oh so true, line of fabric is
Housework Whenever
from In The Beginning....
designed by Sharon Yenter

Embrace the dirt in the corners and the cobwebs on the ceiling fan and get sewing!!

We want you sewing more and cleaning less.
Haven't you always wanted to hear that??
Well, here, let me make some t-shirts for you.

You'll need a quilt or pajama pants to go with this stylish top
so let's have a giveaway for
1/2 yard of the main Novelty Fabric and 3 coordinating fat quarters.
I know, we think of everything.

Except for the fact that
you can't make yourself pajama pants
out of a 1/2 yard unless you're a gnome.

And if you are a gnome.....Welcome.
We think you're adorable.
We hope you win.

Leave a comment mentioning your favorite quote from this fabric.

Random Drawing Tonight.
We really get bummed out when you don't win because we can't find your email address. :(

  1. I am still laughing!! I am not ready for yardage yet - as i am just getting into applique world, here is my favorite line though:

'I told him it was unwise to make me choose between him and my fabrics... I will miss him though'

This is my second time in your blog world!!

  2. This fabric is precious!!1 I love the quote that says a clean house is the sign of a broken sewing machine. That can be so true! I would love to win a piece of this fabric!

  3. That is so generous of you.

evil to make us choose but I would change one to fit me: "If my sewing machine is broken, you will see several academic journals been printed" *(somebody who is in the academic line).

  4. LOL...what a cute post! Just feels great to laugh sometimes right?! hmmm my fav quote would have to be "i got a sewing machine for my husband! Good trade, huh?"
    Crack me up!

  11. Unfortunately, I am not a gnome, but I got a kick out of that fabric! Yes, I did send my son off to college to store my fabs in his room! Great exchange, although at the time I missed him terribly!

  12. Hilarious. What fantastic fabric. I think I'd have to make a cover for my precious baby out of it, as I am unfortunately not a gnome ;)
My favourite quote has to be 'I told him it was unwise to make me choose between him and my fabrics...I will miss him though'. Yesterday my husband suggested I spent less time sewing and more time earning money. You can imagine the colour the air turned after he had said that (I managed to turn it round to it being totally his fault that I am a stay at home mum, and that I sacrificed a career for him and our precious babies. Sneaky, huh?)

Word veri today is 'cluth'. I guess that is how Inspector Clouseau would say cloth. Go on, say it 'cluth'.

  19. Such cute fabric! It's hard to choose a fav quote. I have been caught sewing instead of making dinner...a few times, so 'When I learned to sew, I forgot how to cook' is a true statement.

There are so many great ones to choose from but I think the one that made me laugh out loud the most was the one about sending her son to college so she could use his room, expensive storage. Funny because my son's closet is mostly my sewing storage. I don't know what I am going to do when he gets old enough to want that space for himself!

  90. The quote about using the child's room for storage rings so true for me, only it was my daughter's roomS (plural) that I invaded. First my older daughter went to college in 2002 and I kicked her down into the basement and overtook her bedroom and made it my sewing room. Then my younger daughter moved into an apartment to be closer to college and I cleaned out her room and expanded my sewing studio into 2 rooms! I'm such a pig!
I love your blog and your shop
    Thanks!
