Thanks for dropping by everyone!

Thanks for dropping by everyone!
I'm still into rhyming.
Sorry.
It sounds like many of you are just SO not into thinking about Christmas yet. Well, that's tragic for you. It's coming whether you like it or not and I choose to LOVE it. I'm not ready to start listening to Bing Crosby yet, but thinking about my traditions and all the things I want to do and make and create (more rhyming) ......oh, I just feel I've got to get busy on it all any minute now!
These new fabrics, Figgy Pudding, from Basic Grey are perfect.
If you take a good look, and don't think about wishing anyone a Merry Christmas.....
why.......they're quite non-Christmas-y.
Brown, and bluesy.
Gorgeous Red.
Trees are for all seasons.
Rich, tonal damasks that need to be made into napkins for every occasion.
Okay, I'll give you the poinsettias, and maybe the presents, but that's it. This line says, "Merry Christmas, Darling" but it also says....."Big Girls Don't Cry" because they have this fabric in their stash for everyday sewing.
Sorry.

We would never want YOU to cry because you don't have some of this in YOUR stash. So, we're giving away a lovely little non-holiday specific set of
4 Figgy Pudding fat quarters.
I know....we're only here to serve.
Leave a comment telling me what YOU think this line is saying....could be saying??....whispering??....shouting??......
implying??....suggesting??.....
requesting??....investing??......
Don't sprain your brain if it's just too much for a Thursday.
Random Drawing later tonight.

I won't go until I get some, I won't go until I get some, I won't go until I get some, so send some to me!!
ReplyDeletehaha!! I love this line, I saw it on presale a couple weeks ago and knew I needed it. It reminds me of a charlie brown Christmas, and the aluminum Christmas tree lot. all very 60's mod but with modern hues. Just totally adorable and I know exactly what I'm going to do with it as I sit in my sewing room on a hot July day while watching white Christmas and holiday inn :)
I think this line is saying, even though it's too early for christmas it's never too early for a cool giveaway! It's very pretty, and I would love some :)
ReplyDeleteThe line says red and blue goes together and black just binds them together. The red background looks great together with the bundle, don't you think.
ReplyDeleteThere's a little whisper in the back of my ear that's
ReplyDelete'Oh, bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh, bring us a figgy pudding;
Oh, bring us a figgy pudding and a cup of good cheer
We won't go until we get some;
We won't go until we get some;
We won't go until we get some, so bring some out here'
I just love this new range, but then I just love everything Christmas, we have Christmas in July here for our Australian winter. So the timing is perfect! ;o)
Lizzie
I think the line says:: Merry Christmas to me as I open the wonderful package in my mailbox. Maybe that means you should pick me :P
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the line in real life yet, but I am dying to.
Off the subject are you still selling the Bird fabrics? I need some in yellow
This line is SINGING to me, "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go, take a look in the five and dime...". But it seems that the red and white damask is singing "I'll be at your home for Christmas, you can count on that, please have snow and mistletoe and presents on the tree...". :D I see aprons and table runners and that damask NEEDS to be used for a purse!
ReplyDeleteI think this line is requesting that it be sent to my home to be turned into some lovely Christmas decor!
ReplyDeleteThis line simply says that Christmas is awesome and will make you happy. So I love it. My husband and I are already excited for Christmas. (we were talking about it "yay, the year is half over, we're getting closer to Christmas"...we're nutty)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this line. I actually have that color blue as my counter top in my kitchen. The previous owner put it in upteen years ago. I've always wanted to change it, but I'm seeing more of it now. This line, especially the blue says hope to me, hope that I can maybe keep the counters until my kids are out of college. I'll embrace the blue counter and incorporate all these new colors into my kitchen. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDelete~Karen~
The line is obviously saying that it isn't too early to start thinking about Christmas and it's right. When I start making Christmas presents in the summer my weeks before Christmas are so much more relaxed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
ap_lemos at yahoo dot com
i think this line is saying "i'm not your typical Christmas fabric! play with me all year long please." and I will if i win! I ♥ this fabric!
ReplyDeleteOkay this is my dream come true.
ReplyDeleteI am joining a quilting guild and was just telling one of the ladies if she has seen this line yet.
Those blues are getting me thinking about Elvis' Blue Christmas song, and Figgy pudding is getting me thinking about We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Bing is getting me hearing I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.
Sew I guess this fabric is screamin' Christmas carols at me!
Send it to Coral - ha ha - I have a course coming up soon, Christmas in July - and why not?
ReplyDeleteAhh... to me they are saying,
ReplyDelete"So spend me some lots of money,
So spend me some lots of money,
So spend me some lots of money,
And do it right now!"
It's very pretty, and I am SOOO thinking Chrsitmas already!
To me the line says that I can make a Christmas quilt that I will love and that will hush up all the comments from my family about how I don't decorate my house for Christmas. I am not a fan of most "Christmas-y" stuff, but this like has been making me droooooool
ReplyDeleteThis fabric line is saying "Make me into Christmas gift bags that can be used and reused all year long"!
ReplyDeleteThis line is saying, "Celebrate Christmas in July on your birthday (July 7th) with ME and make a big, lovely, Christmas quilt!"
ReplyDeleteDarn Moda and their fabric loveliness! But, I do love this line! I've never made a Christmas quilt(well, I've actually never made ANY quilt-I just started my first one) but this would be a great second one!
This line is telling me that I wish I lived in a forest, and not in a town. I could live in a forest with beautiful triangular trees and lovely foliage all around. Poo on you, town, with your pavement and poofy little trees.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I started reading other peoples' comments because I thought you meant the line "don't sprain your brain if it's too much for a Thursday." I had no idea what that could possibly mean in relation to the fabric! Obviously, my brain is already sprained. This line has made me excited about Christmas and cold weather, and we haven't gotten to the hot part of our summer yet!
ReplyDeleteShawna
To me, this line says "take me home!!!". Basic Grey has had some of my very favorite Christmas scrapbook paper lines, so to see it in fabric is delightful!! Thanks for another great giveaway.
ReplyDeletebegging.... begging to be cut up in little squares!
ReplyDeleteIt says "Christmas is coming soon. It is time to start planning." I am definitely not ready to start planning but those fabrics are definitely inspiring.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice twist on traditional christmas colors with a retro vintage feel, love it@
ReplyDeletethis line is screaming it's figtastic and it's wants to be played with!!!
ReplyDeleteI think this line is just screaming to be made into christmas stockings. I really need to get a move on that! thanks for a chance to win, just love this line.
ReplyDeleteJenny

HEllo. I think this line is whispering to me that it is never too early to start with a Christmas wreath! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBlRohloff (at) aol (dot) com
Brina
This line makes me think of elegant presents perfectly wrapped under the Christmas tree with a soft fire going in the background.
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are beautiful. I'm thinking Christmas wall hanging or a small quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh, this line is sooo pretty! I just love the vintage look of it. I love the red and blue together and have been wanting to make something with those colors. I can think of lots of ways to use it - Christmas quilt, stockings, napkins, how about some cute Christmas tags! I would love to win this - thanks for the chance! :)

Christmas in July anyone??
ReplyDeleteNuff said!
Love it!
I think this line is saying "Pick me please!" I love everything Christmas, but I think it's too early to even hum Bing Crosby, let alone sing.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but when I look at this line of fabric, I think Christmas. To me it's saying "you can avoid all the stress around Christmas time if you start with your Holiday sewing NOW!"
ReplyDeleteDeck the halls with Moda fat Q's,
ReplyDeleteFa la la la la, la la la la
'Tis the season to be sewing,
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Don we now our quilty aprons,
Fa la la la la la, la la la
Stroll through rows of crispy cottons,
Fa la la la la, la la la la
Enter me! :)
My brain is already mush at 9 am with 3 kids under 5 demanding my attention (and yet here I sit on the computer!). Gorgeous fabric. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI L-O-V-E this fabric! I have been searching my local quilt stores hoping that one of them will have it, but no luck so far. So if I win this Figgy giveaway you can bet I'll do a little jig. I'll even post a video if you pick my name.
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is suggesting that I curl up under a warm blanket by the Christmas tree as snow falls outside my window. In the back ground A Song For A Winter's night by Gordon Lightfoot will be playing.
Thanks for the perfect giveaway.
I think the fabric is telling me to finally finish all those Christmas projects that I started last year and didn't get finished! I just can't get over how it's Christmas fabric, but doesn't scream Christmas. LOVE IT!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis line is telling me that I may be making my first ever Christmas quilt this year! I Love this stuff!
ReplyDeleteSo cool. . .these would make a great little tree skirt for my funky retro gold tinsel tree! The retro colors are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteKolleen
kqueenbea@yahoo.com
I can't see a Basic Grey line without thinking "scrapbooking is so out - sewing is the new hotness!". So yeah, that's what I'm hearing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's saying that winning this may be the only thing you get for Christmas this year. No, I have not been a bad girl. I'm ALWAYS a good girl. A Wedding, high school graduation, and college tuition all in three months time is killing me! whine, whine, whine. I hope Santa isn't listening.
ReplyDeleteWhat time do you get up in the morning? On Thursday morning, your blog ALWAYS already has your giveaway going. . .
ReplyDeleteThis fabric says that I am much more prepared for Christmas than Halloween. I love Christmas, but I need some time before I can get to Halloween costumes.
This says relax and enjoy Christmas with the calm color scheme! I love the combinations!
ReplyDeleteTo me it says "life at the lake picking strawberries". Love the red and aqua!
ReplyDeleteOh, to me it means that I need to make a Christmas quilt with lots of trees on it! I love this line, the colors are perfect! None of my LQS are carrying it so I am so glad you are!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can hear that fabric singing "Happy Holidays to me".... WOuld love to start a Christmas in July project with those FQ's.
ReplyDeleteOhh, I think it is saying -
ReplyDeleteLet it SEW, Let it SEW, Let it SEW!
I am already putting together the list of things for Christmas, have to start early to get them all done.
Thanks!
I'll admit, I wasn't too into this line when I first saw it floating around blogville. It has since grown on me and I'm more into it now because it isn't so 'Christmasy'!! I like non tradition sometimes. Our tree skirt is done in Alexander Henry's Holiday Rider and pony print. Not to mention the John Wayne tree topper. Serious business around here.
ReplyDeleteIt's saying, you really need to sharpen your sewing skills and learn to make a quilt that you & the family can snuggle under when Christmas, your favorite time of year, rolls around - or you need to find someone who will make it for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's very wordy.
Oh, I love the idea of napkins!
ReplyDeleteIt is very simple, plain, elegant, pristine, and modern line, I would cal it.... Drum roll please.... "JANE” Simple yet gets the point across, don’t ya think?
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is SCREAMING from the rooftops--- "I MUST GO TO ANGIE! I MUST GO TO ANGIE!!" :)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it is saying "BUY ME!". It is kind of a modern fabric with a hint of vintage. Lovely really. The colors are beautiful. It is saying "Christmas is a coming and the goose will get fat. If you don't start your sewing soon your going feel like a rat"
ReplyDeleteI know. That is really bad. My daughter tells me all the time I"d make a very bad rapper. Thank heavens for that. I don't really aspire to be a 52 year old rapper.
I think it is saying "Have yourself an old fashioned Christmas" The designs remind of the late 50's, early 60's. Love the feeling of that era.
ReplyDeletethis line looks to me like a "modern christmas"
ReplyDeleteand it looks great any way!!!
It's singing "Bring us some Figgy Pudding and bring it right here" I love the line! To me it's also saying "Buy Me!" but I haven't figured out what I am going to do with it yet!
ReplyDeletedarling! I like the other Christmas line you guys are carrying too...with all the aqua, hint hint!!
ReplyDeleteThis line is saying "take me home with you, take me home with you..."
ReplyDeleteI adore the colors!! I am always christmas shopping and plotting christmas ideas. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave yourself a MOD christmas.
Maybe this will be the year I make a table topper for myself - love this line!
ReplyDeleteOh my they look good enough to eat. They are saying "to me" "I love you, please give us a home". I know that's exactly what they're saying .... LOVE.
ReplyDeletethanks
This line is Screaming...."Pick Me"!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw this line, I fell in love with it! I think think line needs to come home to me to help add to my very small and poor collection of Christmas stuff! Inspired? oh yeah!!
ReplyDeletesarajolee@gmail.com
This fabric is making the softest sound of first snow on pines. What's that, in the distance? Sleigh bells! And faint voices singing a slow carol, Silent Night? I can't tell, have to wait until the sleigh gets closer. This fabric bundles up into the blankets (the red and green fabrics) and spreads warmth and joy throughout the chilly night (the icey blue fabrics). I love the mix of colors!
ReplyDeletehmm...i says to me...get your act together woman, Christmas comes every year, and you're never ready...maybe this year..with your help of course
ReplyDeleteChristmas looks MODvalous this year...
ReplyDeleteI need it. I want it. I love Basic Grey. Fabric or paper.
Its saying "if you start sewing in July, you MIGHT get those Christmas gifts completed" !!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Annie
I'm not going to sprain my brain (which feels slightly sprained already just from life). All Figgy Pudding says to me is that it wants to come live at my house. Don't know what it's saying to the rest of you all. =)
ReplyDeletejessierey(at)msn(dot)com
I think this fabric is say, "use me to trim out a set of Christmas towels and put them under the tree for someone who's been nice all year long!" Hope to win!
ReplyDeleteThis line is whispering: "Remember your childhood Christmases." Remember the Christmas tree exhibit at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts with trees decorated in different time periods. This was the modern 50's-60's. Love the blue! Sarah in Houston
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I heard it saying "pick me, pick me". You see it really wants to be made into a little quilt and hang out on my couch. Really it does.
ReplyDeleteThis line says that Christmas is coming sooner or later, so I better get started with some sewing projects that I never got to last year so I'm not in the same boat of using Target bought stockings this year because I just didn't have time to make the ones I've been planning on for 3 years now. Oh, and it also says that Christmas doesn't have to be just red and green. I LOVE the color combos in this line.
ReplyDeleteI think it's trying to convince us that Christmas does not equal tacky sewing... and I think it's doing a good job at that, because I usually find xmastsy fabrics not-so-cool, but these ones I wouldn't close my door to!!
ReplyDeleteContact:librosfera at gmail dot com
This line is saying I go, but I'm not too matchy.
ReplyDeleteIt says, "Quilt Me!"
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are "teasing" me. And that is oh so cruel :)
ReplyDeleteThey would look lovely in a little table topper quilt.
I think it's saying to go bold!! I could decorate my house for the entire year- not just Christmas with many of these prints- great colors and classic styles- LOVE 'em!! :)
ReplyDeletecandy at afconnect dot com
It says Christmas doesn't HAVE to be about super commercial and shiny things. It's simple, it's sentimental, it's cute and classic.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking winter. . . all bright and clear and snow. Such gorgeous fabric.
ReplyDeleteIt is saying.... you want to buy me so that you can make pretty Christmassy things out of me... like Aprons (I'm figuring out a way to make cute ones from FQs) or Towels, or table runners. Oh the joys!
ReplyDeleteI hope I win, I was drooling over them yesterday, thinking about how mean it was to show off the fabric and not give it away! hehe
megan.nadalet at gmail dot com
ps. you should ask people to submit pictures of what they made with their winning fabric and do a post about that! Or just of joyous faces as they open the boxes. It would be fun to see the faces of the winners!
I think it's a wonderful and refreshing twist on Christmas colors! I love it and can't wait to see all the projects that come out of this fabric by all the avid and trendy quilters out there!
ReplyDeleteJenn
With the exception of the Christmas trees, it reminds me of New Year's or January. I think it's the snowflakes. I like the idea of napkins or placemats expecially for January. It can be so dreary, that would be a perfect way to spice it up!
ReplyDeleteI suggest, pies....pudding...and fun. Love the fabrics and I am going to jot over to your store and check them out...now!!
ReplyDeleteIt suggests Grandma's house to me, you know: over the river and through the woods... sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautitful, and it's never too early for pretty things.
ReplyDeleteThis line says...buy me, sew me, you want to own me! I love it...TRULY I do.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I think it's whispering "table runner" to me. But, it could be saying "I wanna be a purse" too. Hard to tell, they sound so much alike :D
ReplyDeleteInterpretation: A Little Bit Country and a Little Bit Rock-n-Roll . . . . . ooopps wrong song!
ReplyDeleteThese designs are the perfect middle of the road composition of traditional, retro and whimsical. I LOVE the gorgeous richness of the colors! I am always looking for holiday prints that aren't typical Santa Claus Red, Christmas Tree Green and Tinsel Silver!
I would LOVE to get my hands on these to use for my Christmas Craft Fair creations! Pick Me PLEASE :)
Well I think it is saying chocolate, and maybe chocolate covered cherries :-) Very neat giveaway!
ReplyDeleteit is definatley saying YUMMY!! i sure want to eat it all up!! :)
ReplyDeletelove the line, and the colors!!
I think it says "Be cool in Winter" love those cool blues!
ReplyDeleteIt's saying, "leave a comment so I can come to your house!"
ReplyDeleteIt's saying "to start now so you'll have projects finished in time for Christmas".
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is going to be a huge hit!! the line says make me into a quilt, a throw an apron Anyone would want a homemade something out of any of it :) Kathie k.bugbee@att.net
ReplyDelete"He's making a list, he's checkin' it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice, Santa Claus is coming to town..."
ReplyDeleteI've been nice, pick me! Thank you for the chance to win this lovely fabric.
Christina
cmatthies@hotmail.com
this was my fave scrapbook paper line and now it's a fabric. Oh my goodness!!!! I could do so much with this..make some adorable stockings, things for around the house, etc....
ReplyDeleteIt whispers the same thing as all fabric does....
ReplyDelete...you need me
...buy me
...take me home with you PPPLLLLEASE!!
...hide me and hubby will never know ;)
I think those muted colors are whispering "Psst do you see that brightly colored CHRISTMAS fabric next to us? Yea, it's trying to remind you it's time to start that list and get serious about your holiday projects or you'll be sewing on Christmas Eve just like every other year!"
ReplyDeleteVery pretty fabrics. And I absolutely LOVE that red and white fabric on the bolt in the pic above. GORGEOUS! I'd like to win that entire bolt please? :) LOL
My daughter loves this fabric (see Nancy's comment above) and had me check it out just the other day. I think it is a darling fabric line. As always thanks for the Thursday giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI think this line is saying that it wants to spend Christmas here in Brazil!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for this great giveaway!!
Love, love, love it!!!!! I think it wants to be made into... aprons, and tree skirts and quilts, oh my!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's saying "make lovely, luscious things with me"-very,very inviting!jllbarron@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThey are whispering I had better get my act together if we are finally going to have that quilted tree skirt this year instead of that white sheet.
ReplyDeleteWe wish you a Merry Christmas, so bring on some cheer!
ReplyDeleteHow fun would it be to win those!
The line is whispering that it would be happy to reside in my home. Francis C. Moore
ReplyDeleteOh man, I hear the very non-seasonal Rosemary Clooney singing "c'mon over to my house, to my house, c'mon over to my house........" yes, I'm absolutely certain that is what they are saying!!! YUMMY fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's saying "Christmas is moving to the summer due to global warming" :)
ReplyDeleteThis Figgy Pudding set of fat quarters is implying that it wants to be made into an incredible table topper for the holiday season by me!
ReplyDeleteThis tells me I had better get off my duff and get busy.....homemade gifts take time to make and I have lots that needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteThe line is saying...it is the last day of school and now you have time to sew. Had a great day, a great year in fact, but let's face it, teaching is all about the summer. Thanks for the give away,
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed,
Deborah
How did you know you were talking about me. How I feel most days. Linda gerig
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are screaming Bah Hum Bug because I might be late for the drawing...
ReplyDeleteWhat they really say to me is It's a winter wonder land full of fun :)
M
It says to me:
ReplyDeleteHome again,
home again,
do a figgity jig.
rsgrandinetti@yahoo.com
this fabric is so happy because it knows that is it so pretty that it couldn't possibly be put away after christmas is over.
ReplyDeletethis line is saying...forget the shopping...use this fabric to quilt all of your holiday worries away! I love the chocolate colour in there, it reminds me of hot cocoa on a snowy day at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis line says that brown and blue are Christmas colors! Love it!
ReplyDelete~Joyce in MI
It's telling me, "TAKE ME HOME!"
ReplyDelete
